Explore the art and history of the Indigenous ribbon skirt as it relates to the Anishinaabek. Indigenous people have been adapting the use of different materials as they have become available over time. Indigenous artists traded for ribbons, which they transformed into beautiful garments. Today ribbon skirts have become a significant item in the Indigenous fashion world. Basic sewing skills are recommended, and students must furnish their own sewing machine and materials for the workshop. Workshop is intended for adults and ages 16+ with a kind and respectful heart. Registration closes Sunday, June 6 at 11:59 p.m.
